The TPDIN series of products may not support encrypted email (non-SSL / TLS). Most mail servers like GMAIL require encrypted email (SSL/TLS).
In order to send email alerts with the TPDIN series of products that don't support SSL/TLS you will need to be able to send non encrypted email via SMTP port 25. You can sign up for a free account at TurboSMTP orJangoSMTP or GMX Mail. These free email servers allow non encrypted sending of emails. Another option is using Google's non encrypted SMTP server on port 25. The SMTP server address is: aspmx.l.google.com This SMTP server will only allow sending to a gmail address. When using this service leave the user name and password fields blank. Make sure to check the box that says "Use user name as from field".
