June 30, 2010 – Draper, Utah – Tycon Power® Systems is proud to announce the release of its industrial strength DC to DC converter / POE Inserter for battery powered vehicular and portable applications.
The low cost TP-DCDC-1248M accepts 9-36VDC on the wire terminal input and outputs 48VDC @ 24W on the POE RJ45 output. The compact case is powder coat painted steel to meet the most stringent requirements.
“These rugged DCDC converters with built in POE inserter are being used in military vehicular applications to power 48VDC POE radio equipment ” said Scott Parsons, CEO. “There are many industrial and commercial applications that could benefit from this compact and rugged voltage converter."
The DCDC-1248M offers protection for short circuits. The output is regulated within 5%. Low self consumption of <1W and >75% efficiency make them ideal for portable power applications. Operating temperature range is from - 30C to +60C.
Alternative POE output voltages are available as well as an 802.3af compatible model. OEM and custom configurations are available upon request.
