From Tycon Systems Office of the President,
President Trump just signed a short sighted and not very well thought out 30% tariff on all solar panel imports. The action is supposed to protect two foreign owned US solar panel companies that are struggling with bankruptcy. While these companies only make large solar panels for the residential and large scale commercial power markets, the action is sweeping and affects small panels that are not even made in the USA. All small panels <100W are only made outside the USA so the action helps no company, saves no jobs and hurts all small companies using smaller solar panels.
Tycon Systems has decided to try to keep our pricing stable for as long as possible in hopes that the administration will see that they are hurting small businesses all over the country and they will make corrections/exclusions to the actions they have taken.
