5/25/2010 Tycon Power Systems Introduces New Dual Input/Dual Output Battery Charge ControllerRead NowUtah company provides unique solutions for Power Over EthernetMay 25, 2010 – Draper, Utah – Tycon Power® Systems is excited to announce the release of its Dual Input/Dual Output battery charge controllers for backup power and remote power applications. The low cost SCPOE series can charge lead acid batteries from solar panel input and/or Power Over Ethernet (POE) input. The 5A solar panel input takes priority so when the sun is shining grid power is not used. There are two outputs; The 24W Power Over Ethernet (POE) output utilizes a high efficiency DCDC converter to provide 12V, 18V, 24V or 48VDC POE and the secondary wire terminal output on the back is essentially the battery voltage. “The introduction of the SCPOE series enables a whole host of remote power applications because of its versatility” said Scott Parsons, CEO. “The dual inputs allow powering equipment in areas where grid power is spotty, unreliable, too expensive or non-existent. The dual outputs offer the customer the possibility of two different voltages from a 12V battery system. For instance they can run radio equipment which requires 48VDC POE and at the same time cameras that require 12VDC, all from the same controller." The SCPOE series offers full protections for over-charge, over-discharge, short circuit, over-voltage and overcurrent. Low self consumption of <0.5W make them ideal for remote power applications. The units are rated for operation from -30°C to 60°C, suitable for year round outdoor operation in a weatherproof enclosure. Multiple configurations are available for 12V or 24V battery systems with various POE output voltages. OEM and custom configurations are available upon request. They are normally in stock in Salt Lake City, Utah or at one of Tycon Power® Systems worldwide distributors. *MSRP is $49.95 AboutHeadquartered in Bluffdale, Utah, Tycon Power® Systems manufactures remote power systems for wireless and video applications and specializes in Power over Ethernet power solutions. It has offices and warehouse facilities in the USA as well as distributors and representatives worldwide.
