The RJ45 connectors are shielded to create a continuous ground path for shielded cables. The DC Barrel connector model features a shrouded DC connector to ensure a more reliable dust free connection. The shroud also adds mechanical friction to prevent the mating connector from disconnecting accidentally. The DIN connector model features a 4pin locking Mini DIN connector.
